Among one of the most notable professional poker places around is Andy Bloch. Andy was born on the year of 1969, on June 1st, in the town of Orange, Connecticut. From a young man in school, he was interested and showed a knack for playing poker as well as blackjack. Bloch, not only a staple in the world of poker, but has the smarts as well, graduated with two degrees - one in electrical engineering from MIT as well as a law degree from the prominent and respectable Harvard Law school, which is impressive by many standards the nation over. While still in school, he had a turning point that created the path that he would soon be on toward his career in poker. He recalls having been a poker player before being on the blackjack team, and slowly increasing the stakes and limits that were a part of his tournaments and competitions as he quietly moved up in the gaming ranks. He admits that at one point he was thinking about moving on to something else besides poker - since poker was not an original career choice that he had in mind, until one day when the opportunity to take part in the World Poker Tour had came and he decided to take a chance and have a go at it. After MIT, he played blackjack to pay his way through Harvard, though not accepting a job in law after completing school. Andy's poker playing style is a combination of skill and instinct that he makes sure to keep close to his game. He makes certain to use a mixture of the information that he concludes from other players and the circumstances of the game being played to map out a viable plan for the route he will take next. While in school as well as after, Bloch has achieved many different poker events and tournaments which further fueled his desire to make a name for himself and hit it big in the world of gaming. In 2006, Andy came out in second place for the World Series of Poker against David Reese. Most recently as of 2009, his total winnings are known to exceed more than $4,000,000 to his portfolio. Not only is this pro poker player known for his game, but he is also known for his generous donations and gifting to needy and worthy charities as well. Among more of his poker victories, Bloch also has had two televised finals to add to his long list of gaming accomplishments as well. Since becoming a serious and professional poker player, he has definitely set a standard for others to take into account and work toward.
